Karen Parkhurst ’89 (Human Resources) is serving others through both the Rotary Club of Gates-Chili and Victor-Farmington. The Gates-Chili group is a small Rotary Club of 14 members who serve others in the community. Parkhurst recently presented a project to provide potable water to a small village in Nicaragua. The Gates-Chili Rotary approved to support this project which will supply clean water to approximately 800 villagers, two schools, and a health outpost. Parkhurst has chaired five humanitarian projects since 2008; four in Nicaragua and one in Paraguay. She is very passionate about doing international humanitarian work and she attributes that passion in part to the Christian education she received.
