Legacy 150 Final Update
August 11, 2017

Reggie and President Porterfield

Thank you, Lord! Because of God’s faithfulness and through the generosity of faithful and generous donors who share our commitment to the missions of the Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary, we have successfully completed the Legacy 150 Capital Campaign. And to each one of YOU who participated in any way, we send a heartfelt THANK YOU for your investment in transformational learning and Christian higher education.

As we happily celebrate the successful completion of the capital campaign, I think it is important to remember why we even started it back in 2012. It has been the largest campaign in our history, and from the outset, it set forth some very ambitious fundraising goals. Why did we expend our time and resources on such a
huge undertaking?

The work we do every day to create and sustain a faith-based community, where students are invited and enabled to connect their heads to their hearts and engage their hands in service, is why. Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary exist for that purpose. Thanks to the lasting legacy of B.T. Roberts, and the commitment to his vision by countless faculty, staff, alumni and friends throughout the past 151 years, that purpose remains unchanged, although certainly not unchallenged. In fact, the challenges have often served to remind us who we are and why it matters.

As we prepare for a new academic year, join me in focusing on the why of our work and watch as God’s blessings continue to fall as students’ lives are transformed!
Persistent in Hope,
Deana L. Porterfield, President
