I have RAVED about this program to so many people who are thinking about starting their master’s degree. Every professor I have had has been incredibly helpful and I have gained so much knowledge and experience from each of the classes I have taken.

I am very grateful that this program is up to date on the science of reading and I was able to draw many parallels between what I was learning in our courses and literacy shifts that have been made where I teach.

Literacy Graduate, 2024

Everything and every class was valuable. There was no filler in this program. The focus on theory gives you the "why" behind the practices and instructional strategies and I found myself reflecting on many of them as I worked through the practicum.

This is a well-thought-out program that prepares literacy specialists to meet the holistic needs of a child and collaborate effectively with staff. The teachers have all been very responsive, insightful, and incredibly helpful in helping me and my fellow graduates thrive in our classes.

Literacy Graduate, 2024

I am appreciative of the professors within this program. Without their expertise, understanding, and dedication the amount of learning that has taken place wouldn’t be possible.

I am also appreciative of the different teaching experiences I have been exposed to [instead of] just sticking to one grade band. I was able to branch out of my comfort grade level.

Literacy Graduate, 2024

I enjoyed my time in the program and was pushed to be my best self. The expectations were high but attainable and as a result I was able to grow immensely as a learner. There is not anything I would change about the program.

The professors in this program made me feel seen and heard. They answered my questions with patience and understanding and I could tell they actually wanted to help me succeed.

I think each class had meaning, there was never a class where I thought it was pointless or something I would never use. This program has made me a stronger literacy teacher and gave me so many strategies to use in my career.

Literacy Graduate, 2024

I appreciate how prepared I felt for the practicum. In my first semester, we were introduced to the portfolio and practicum, and it all felt very overwhelming and like something I couldn’t do. As time went by at Roberts, I felt more prepared each time I took a course.

Literacy Graduate, 2024

The online and often asynchronous format of classes directly contributed to my success in balancing course work with developing my career as a new teacher. This format is flexible and accessible, making it ideal for someone in my situation.
