Lynn Rogers ’49, age 90, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2016. Lynn was born on June 8, 1926 in Wellsville, New York, son of Lynn and Reva Rogers. Lynn joined the US Navy during World War II. After his Navy duty, Lynn enrolled in and graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York. It was in college where he met his future wife, Ruth Kingcaid. In 1948, they were married and remained so for 63 years until her death in 2011. In 1967, Lynn moved his family from Pittsburgh, PA to Fullerton, CA. Lynn and his family joined the Fullerton First United Methodist Church soon upon arriving and he was a member until his passing. Lynn loved music. He sang in the church choir and played the violin in the Fullerton Civic Light Opera Orchestra for 13 years. He also served as President of Fullerton Friends of Music for many years. For his career, Lynn had a passion for the practice of medicine and held many senior positions in hospital administration, the last of which was Vice President of the Medical Staff at Pomona Valley Hospital. Lynn was a man of faith and Christ was his Savior. Lynn was also a devout husband, father, and friend to many, who always had a genuine concern for others. Lynn had a deep love of his country and was generous with his support of charities and causes he believed in. Lynn is survived by his four sons, Lynn DeWitt, Eric Douglas, Thomas Bradley and Timothy Dwight; five grandchildren, Erica, Kaitlin, Thomas Jr., Nolan and Calvin; and three great grandchildren, Marco, Arthur and Moses.
