Alumni Spotlight: Dr. Russ'85 and Beth'86 White
Dr. Russ White (Roberts Wesleyan College Class of 1985) is Chief of Surgery – Cardiothoracic Unit at Tenwek Hospital in Bomet, Kenya. Dr. White has been at Tenwek Hospital for over 20 years specializing in treating patients with esophageal cancer, which is endemic to the area. He is involved in treating, screening for, and doing research on esophageal cancer, and recently has also performed operations on patients with congenital heart defects and rheumatic heart disease. Tenwek’s motto is “We Treat, Jesus Heals.” The hospital and community have been a wonderful place for Dr. White to live out his faith as an extension of his profession.
