Alumni Spotlight: Andrew Stewart’13 (Business Administration)

Creative Director at Rogue FC

Andrew Stewart

Andrew Stewart’13 (Business Administration) describes himself as “a bit of a perfectionist, methodical, a calculated risk-taker and creative.” He is a person who does what he loves and, because of that choice, has achieved many of his career goals. Stewart is currently the Creative Director at Rogue FC, an agency he co-founded.

As an undergraduate student at Roberts, Stewart studied business and was on the soccer team. During this time, realized he had a creative side. Professor Erv Starr made an impression on Andrew, as they had similar personalities and interests, which made for thought provoking and insightful conversations. “Professor Starr always made time for me as a student,” said Stewart.

Late in his senior year at Roberts, Stewart got into iPhone photography. He had a couple of friends who were filmmaking students and he helped them out with a few shoots. After that, he was hooked on telling stories and creating videos! It was fun, but it never crossed his mind to work in the creative industry.

Stewart’s first job after graduating from Roberts Wesleyan College was with Paychex. About three years after graduating from Roberts, Stewart picked up a real camera and started a website and YouTube channel in his spare time: Boost Futbol. He also did freelance shoots. After doing that for a couple years, his work was spotted by Nike and Soccer.com. They asked him to apply for a collaborative position, that both companies had created. He was offered the job and accepted. Shooting for Nike was a huge career accomplishment.

At the beginning of 2021, he co-founded a soccer specific creative agency: Rogue FC. At Rogue FC, he had the exclusive opportunity to tell Hudson Hogsett’s story that was both unique and special. The debut film for the Rogue FC brand, “Kinda Into Soccer” allowed the agency to put a flag in the ground to showcase stories they wanted to tell while also illustrating their expertise for deeper athlete storytelling. Stewart shared that he is a soccer-obsessed creative. Since he picked up the camera, he has not stopped shooting and has worked with some of the biggest brands and athletes in the world. See his portfolio: https://www.andrewhstewart.com/

Stewart shared this advice for prospective and current Roberts students:

“It’s a small school, so lean into that. Don’t get stuck in one friend group, make lots of friends, including professors, and actively seek to grow your faith.”
