Metz at Roberts Receives Vocational Supporter of the Year Award

Metz Award

The Vocational Supporter of the Year Award is presented annually to an employer who has made a difference employing an individual with a traumatic brain injury. This year’s winner is Metz Culinary Management at Roberts Wesleyan College.  The award was presented by The Hickok Center’s Vocational Program Manager Jenna DiPasquale, at the 12th annual Brain Waves event on March 13 held at Casa Larga Vineyards.

The vocational program at the Hickok Center works with individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury and/or neurological challenges that can include autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and more. The program helps the participants in their journey of returning to work after experiencing an injury. Often these people are just beginning their experience into the work world.

Metz Award

“The recipient of this year’s vocational Supporter award has exceeded their role in employing one of our vocational participants. They have gone above and beyond not only to ensure the participants safety while at work, but also in working side-by-side with me in helping support this individual’s progress. They have made several reasonable accommodations for this individual over the course of the year until we found the right fit for her. The supervisors have given her guidance and support while making her feel like any other employee. They have truly been an amazing team to work with,” said DiPasquale.

Congratulations to Metz on this award and for making a difference by serving others in our community!
