Serving Others and Teaching Them to Care for Themselves
Private practice is a path for graduates to pursue to serve others through helping them to grow and heal. Following her graduation from Roberts, Stephanie Wilson Jackman’03 (Social Work, M.S.) completed a Master of Human Development from University of Rochester Warner School of Education in 2017. Today, she is the owner of a private practice behavioral health firm.
“My program at Roberts helped me to understand my role as an advocate and change agent for children and families. The Master’s in Social Work (MSW) program prepared me to work within an interdisciplinary team. As a result, I was hired as an intern before I graduated,” said Jackman.
In her current role, as the owner of Stephanie Jackman LCSW PLLC Private Practice, she has a desire to serve others and to teach them how to care for themselves through delivering mental health services.
Her advice to others who want to pursue social work, “Going to school at Roberts for an MSW is a top notch choice. “If you are looking to learn more about yourself this is the program for you,” said Jackman. “Be open and be willing to grow through a program that will allow you to see yourself through self-assessment and reflection.”
