In Remembrance: Janice Hurley
Janice Hurley, long time employee of Roberts Wesleyan College, passed away on May 11. She is survived by her husband C. Harold, who served 43 years as a professor at Roberts (1972-2015) and three years as an adjunct (2016-2019), and sons Nathan and Evan.
Janice graduated from Roberts in 1981 with a degree in Nursing. She went on to serve 32 years as faculty at Roberts Wesleyan College (1981-2013). She was an Associate Professor of Psychiatric Nursing and as also an Emeritus faculty member. Janice earned a diploma in nursing, completed a BS in Nursing at Roberts Wesleyan College and then earned a MS in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing. She was Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse.
Dean of the School of Nursing and Graduate Program Director, Dr. Cheryl Crotser, shared, “Janice taught in the traditional nursing program and the RN to BS degree completion program and was known for her sense of humor and innovative teaching strategies. She cared deeply about students and wanted to be sure they were prepared before starting their clinical experiences.”
Janice has been a Roberts Circle member and faithful donor to the College since 1981. She was a longtime member of Pearce Church.
All services will be held privately.
