$10,000 Golden Apple Scholarships Awarded to Three Education Students
Presented by Roberts Wesleyan College, News 8 (WROC-TV), and Advantage Federal Credit Union
Roberts Wesleyan College, News 8 (WROC-TV) and Advantage Federal Credit Union partnered to offer three $10,000 Golden Apple scholarships to aspiring teachers. The $10,000 scholarships were awarded to one undergraduate, one adult degree completion, and one graduate student enrolling in the Roberts Wesleyan College education programs this fall.
The 2022 Golden Apple Scholarship winners were announced on June 14th at the on-air End of Year Celebration for Golden Apple Teachers and Roberts Golden Apple Scholarship winners hosted by WROC.
Golden Apple Scholarship Winners
Traditional Undergraduate: Corden Zimmerman, a Music Education major who is graduating from Byron-Bergen High School.
He says, “I’m honored to get this scholarship because all I am is someone who is passionate about teaching. I want to make a great impact on the next generation.”
Adult Degree Completion: Jessica Armstrong, Pathway to Teaching, who works at the Wayne Central School District.
She says, “Receiving the Golden Apple Scholarship is a profound honor. Knowing that others see and believe in my capabilities is a true gift!“
Graduate: Paola Lecomte, Masters of Education (Initial Certification), who earned her bachelor's degree from Universidad Autonoma del Noreste in Mexico.
She says, “ I am honored and deeply grateful! Coming from another country and being my first time studying in the United States, the support I get from Roberts has been amazing.”
