Chris Williams

Chris Williams’92 & ‘00 (Social Work & MS Management) has been named the Director of Championships for the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) effective August 1. Williams is a Roberts Wesleyan College Hall of “Famer” for basketball! He concluded his basketball career with over 1,000 points. Following graduation, Williams served as the women’s basketball assistant coach for seven years and was promoted to head coach from 1999 to 2004. Previously he was the Director of Athletics at Southern Wesleyan University. Read the full story.

Henry County Hospital, in Napoleon, OH, announced that Kimberly L. Danser '01 (Mod RN) joined their organization as a certified nurse midwife bringing 27 years of experience to women’s health care. Danser is a certified nurse midwife who is qualified to provide care for women in all stages of life. Read more.

Erik Fix

The City of Batavia announced the appointment of Erik Fix '18 (Organizational Management) to the position of Assistant City Manager for the City of Batavia. Read more.

 

Steven A. Sorensen '05 (Master of Education-ADEDI) will lead the Hilton Cadets in a new position as the Assistant Principal of Merton Williams Middle School in Hilton, NY. Previously, he was a social studies teacher at Merton Williams. Read more.

Amy Kovach ’04 (Chemistry) is the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Mount Vernon Nazarene University effective July 13. In this role, Kovach will provide leadership for the academic planning and policies and excellence. Read more.

Alexandria Marci ’18 (Studio Art) has been promoted to Social Media Specialist at Wake Research in Raleigh, NC.

Mike McGinnis

Mike McGinnis’11 (Marketing) joined the Customer Success team at Slate. Previously he was at DS+CO and worked with Slate as a client at the RBC Heritage PGA TOUR event.

 

Andy Zebulske’16 (Strategic Marketing, M.S.) was promoted to Sr. Email Marketing & Automation Manager at Bankers Healthcare Group Financial. He’s been with BHG Financial for over four years.

Rebekah Lewin’96 (Business Administration) is the Senior Assistant Dean of Admissions at the University of Rochester, Simon Business School. Lewin has over 20 years of undergraduate and graduate admissions and program management experience. Read more.

Alumni Awards

Kari (Wilkes) Silver, NP, ’94 (Nursing) was recognized for Excellence in Leadership/APRN/APP in Cardiology at University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) in June 2022. Silver is a Nurse Practitioner with the Structural Heart Team and APP lead for the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Clinic at URMC and developed staff education, patient education materials, guidelines for family screening and a monthly virtual patient support group. Her credentials include the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Emily Miller

Emily Miller ’20,’21 (Marketing, MS Strategic Marketing) is a finalist for the 2022 Greater Rochester Chamber IGNITE Award. The IGNITE Award Celebration will be held on Aug. 3. Miller is the Director of Marketing at Wilmac. See the IGNITE Finalists.

 

NCAA Recognition

Justine Sharda

Justine Sharda ’22, (Business Administration and Marketing) is a nominee for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year award. This program honors female college athletes for academic achievements, athletics excellence, community service and leadership.

Sharda played soccer at Roberts, participated in Enactus and was the Director of Marketing for Enactus. She also served the Rochester community as a student-athlete.

All conference nominees will be announced in August. The top 30 will go to the award ceremony that will take place during the NCAA Convention in January.
