Spectrum News Covers Science & Nursing Discovery Day
Roberts Wesleyan University hosted a Science and Nursing Discovery Day on Saturday Oct. 22. Prospective students specifically interested in STEM & Nursing programs had the opportunity to check out Roberts with their families. They got to see lab simulations, meet professors and current students, meet the admissions team, take a campus tour, and more. The event was held in the Crothers Science and Nursing Center.
“Nurses are needed now more than ever,” senior nursing student Frank Fullone said. “We really need the other nurses into the field to help support those that are already in the field and help decrease their patient load.”
“Health care and medicine and knowing about the world around us is going to be essential, look how the world was crippled by a virus,” assistant professor of biology of Robert Wesleyan University Terri Thayer said.
Associate Professor of Nursing and Director of Traditional and Graduate Nursing Programs, Robert Dorman, led a Nursing overview, skills lab, simulation lab and science lab.
Professor of Mathematical Sciences; Chair, Department of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics; Chair, Dr. Gary Raduns led STEM breakouts which included Biology, Chemistry, Physics and a STEM overview.
