Roberts’ Community Runs the Ugandan Water Project 5k
On Saturday, April 15th, members of the Roberts community raised money for clean water in the Ugandan Water Project 14th annual 5k.
Our community raised a total of $4,146, surpassing our goal of $3,000.
The 5k raised a grand total of $101,383. $100 can provide 8 people in Uganda with clean water – meaning the event could provide clean water for over one thousand people.
The Ugandan Water Project was founded in 2009 by alumnus James Harrington ‘97 (Philosophy and Religion).
In a past interview, Harrington stated, “Here in the U.S., I challenge people to look outside of their lives and help UWP to transform communities on the other side of the world… In Uganda, UWP endeavors to change the way communities deal with water sanitation and [hygiene].”
