Clifford Selected To Coach At WCBA Academy
Roberts Wesleyan University women's basketball coach Kevin Clifford has been selected to coach at the inaugural Women's College Basketball Academy in Memphis later this month.
Clifford, who is entering his sixth season as head coach of the Redhawks, is one of 76 coaches selected to work the academy, which will be conducted by the NCAA with input from the Women's College Basketball Coaches Association. The coaching staff will include coaches from the Division II, Division III, NAIA, junior college and high school levels. All coaches were required to earn a gold license from USA Basketball in order to be eligible to work the academy.
"I am excited to represent my country and Roberts Wesleyan University and to work with some really talented basketball players," Clifford said. "I think that it is a great opportunity."
The invite-only academy runs from July 28-31 and is open to prospective student-athletes in the high school classes of 2024, '25 and '26.
Roberts Wesleyan University is the only NCAA Division II athletic program in the Rochester region and competes in the East Coast Conference.
