Faculty Spotlight: Roberts Welcomes Six New Faculty
This fall, six new faculty members joined Roberts Wesleyan University! We hope they will enrich our programs with academic strengths and enhance the diversity of ideas and educational innovation.
Dr. Anna Beaudry, Assistant Professor of Biology and Exercise Science
Dr. Anna Beaudry joined the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences. Beaudry has a B.S. in Sports Medicine and Exercise Science from Mercyhurst University. At Mercyhurst, she ran cross country as a student-athlete. She completed her Ph.D. in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at Baylor University, where she worked in the Law Laboratory studying the physiological and molecular mechanisms of cardiac dysfunction in cancer cachexia. Dr. Beaudry is a Certified Exercise Physiologist and holds certifications from both the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Dr. Anthony Petrillo, Associate Professor of Computer Science
Dr. Anthony Petrillo joined the Department of Computer Science, Math and Physics. Petrillo has a rich and diverse teaching background. He studied Computer Science at the State University of New York at Buffalo and received his high school mathematics teaching certificate. He has an MBA in the Public Sector and Ph.D. in Mathematics Education and Computer Science. Among his many accomplishments, Petrillo founded an institute, ECWA International College of Technology, Jos, Nigeria. He is an AASI Certified Snowboard Instructor and PSIA Certified Ski Instructor.
Prof. Grace Smith, Assistant Professor of Psychology
Dr. Grace Smith joined the Department of Psychology. Smith completed her B.S. in Sociology at the University of South Florida and her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Medaille College. She completed her Psy.D. at Roberts Wesleyan University in Clinical and School Psychology. Most recently, Smith served as an adjunct in graduate psychology at Roberts while also serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Victor Counseling Practice as a therapist to children, families, couples, and individuals. Dr. Smith currently works as an Associate Psychologist at the Office of Children and Families. She brings a breadth of professional experience with a variety of populations to this position.
Prof. Janette Stanley, Assistant Professor of Music History
Janette (LaBarr) Stanley joined the faculty in Music and Performing Arts. She is an experienced educator and accomplished trumpet player. Stanley has a Master's in Music Leadership from Eastman School of Music, an M.M. and B.S. in Music Education from Roberts Wesleyan University, and extensive participation in national and international Conducting institutes. She has previously served at Roberts Wesleyan, Houghton, Csehy Summer School of Music, and Hochstein School of Music. Stanley will focus on the important role of Music History and Literature in the understanding of history, music, and performance.
Prof. Jennifer Tuttle, Assistant Professor of Nursing
Tuttle is a Family Nurse Practitioner currently working with the Rochester Regional Health Hospice Team both in the community and at the Hildebrandt Inpatient Hospice Center. She has been an Assistant Nursing Professor at Roberts Wesleyan, teaching undergraduate and graduate programs. She has practiced as a medical nurse practitioner in the inpatient psychiatric unit at St. Mary's Hospital and spent much of her nursing career as a labor and delivery nurse and was the Director of the Family Birth Place at Unity Hospital.
Prof. Fanle Wei, Assistant Professor of Economics
Wei comes to Roberts Wesleyan University from Central Michigan University. He will be teaching the core economics courses. He brings not only a wealth of knowledge, skills, and tools but also a heart and purpose to assist students as they grow personally and professionally in integrity, humility, and life-work. Wei’s research interests include industrial organization, applied microeconomics, family, health, and labor economics.
