Linda (Williams) Stirling ‘79 published the novel "Simon Says," available at Amazon.com, Bookshop.org, and wherever books are sold. Her novel is currently a Quarter-Finalist for the BookLife Prize by Publisher's Weekly.

Nancy (Lundberg) Rathke ’72 (Social Work) married Bob Rathke and took his last name. Her previous married name was Bogey.


Obituaries

Lorraine (Wilder) Hays ’61 (Nursing) went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 24th 2023 around 4:30 am at Asante Hospital.

Elaine (Bernado) Tannous ’69 (Comprehensive Social Studies). On January 4, 2023 at the age of 75 after a yearlong battle with lung cancer. Elaine was born on December 28, 1947 to Joe and Anne Bernardo in Rochester, NY. She is survived by her college sweetheart of 51 years, Musa "Naim" Tannous; 2 wonderful sons, Eric (Vera) and Adam (Alicia) Tannous; 6 beautiful grandsons, Joseph, Thomas, Vincent, Andrew, AJ and Austen; brother, Dan (Arlene) Bernardo; niece, Danene Bernardo. Elaine was devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a Catholic school teacher for 24 years. It brought her so much joy and fulfillment. Teaching was her passion, as was her family. She so loved her family, her friends, her country, art, music and nature. Elaine was a poet, a writer and an avid reader.

Richard “Richie” Willock ‘13 ’15 (Health Administration and Health Administration, M.S.), age 58 North Chili, New York. He died at his home in N. Chili on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 58. His parents predeceased him, James and Recalder (Alda) Willock, his wife, Nicole Willock, and his sister Eileen (Nancy) Cummings. Richie is survived by his daughter Saidah, three brothers Winston (Jenelle), Glen (Cheryl), Jerry (Magdala “Maggie”), and an uncle to Giselle, Kegan, Kevin, Elizabeth, and Stephanie. Richie was a grand uncle to Laiya, Ruby, Luke, Skylar, Tristan, Maxwell, and Roman.

Richard was an uncle to nieces and nephews Osei, Subira, Omar, and Omari and predeceased Safiya, Krystal, Dario, Daniel, Warren, and cousin—Alison in Guelph, Canada. Richie had very close relationships in Trinidad and Tobago (his birthplace); among those are his cousin—Hayden Moore, close friends Japa and Dexter Brown, Rendell, Paula Percell, and the SJS Class of 81—Kevin, Junior, David, Donia, Roger Watson, Mechelle, Roger Mc Namara, Peter, Derek, and Joeyjo, and the U.S., Pastor Roger Watson and Merle in Toronto. Richie is remembered for his gregarious, mischievous, and joyful temperament and is already profoundly missed by all who knew him.
