Occupational Therapy Students Host The SOTA Social
Roberts Wesleyan University extends its warmest congratulations to the Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) for orchestrating a highly successful SOTA Social in honor of Occupational Therapy Month.

In hosting, our students shared, "As advocates for occupational therapy and its impact on individuals' lives, it is essential to come together to celebrate the importance of this profession. Our social events foster a sense of community, promote awareness of occupational therapy, and celebrate the dedication and passion of all those involved in the field."
The club serves various purposes, including advocacy, providing social opportunities, and facilitating continuing education. The students had three goals in hosting the event: to foster social connections, commemorate OT Month, and raise awareness of occupational therapy.
Julia Arau, serving as the SOTA Advisor alongside her roles as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Assistant Professor, provided invaluable guidance to ensure the event's success. She’s helped nurture the growth of SOTA club, which has made remarkable strides since its leadership board started its positions last November.
“Planning the events they did this month, including this social, was no small feat,” said Arau. “Having three cohorts of students in our program at one time, the opportunity to all come together, and the starting of the SOTA club this year have shown me how far we have come in the past 3 years.”
Join us in celebrating the success of the SOTA Social as we reaffirm our commitment to nurturing servant leaders ready to make a positive impact on the world.
