Marlene (Nightengale) Rogers 74’ (Nursing) Predeceased by her parents, Gerald and Doris Nightingale; her son, Michael James Rogers. Marlene is survived by her husband of 44 years, James L. Rogers; Children, Mary Rogers, Ann (Jason) Harrison and Gerald Rogers (Laura Steuerman): grandsons, Aiden and Finn Harrison.
She was loved by all of her pets ranging from dogs to cats. Predeceased by Cupcake, Squirty, Diamond, Brador, Gonzo, Tiger, Chewy, Ernesto aka Henry, Barley, and Bella. She is survived by Polly, Otter, Boris, Oscar, and Floyd.
Marlene was born in Boonville, NY and grew up on a Diary Farm of the same village. She was proud of the hard work it took to be a farmer and believed that it crafted her to have a relentless work ethic. She was the Salutatorian of her high school graduating class where she continued her studies at Roberts Wesleyan College to become a nurse. At Roberts Wesleyan she excelled in her studies and gained friendships. She put on her white nursing cap and decided to be a registered nurse at Rochester General Hospital for 30 years eventually becoming a nurse manager of the MICU.
She enjoyed the time spent with her kids, either cooking together, watching them play sports or dance. She was the definition of a "mama bear" before it was cool. If her kids needed help she would let nothing stand in her way to use her advanced intellect to convince others to do her bidding making them think it was their idea.
Marlene was selfless and gave until it hurt, even when she suffered herself from her own medical complications. For the years Michael Rogers needed love and support Marlene was there no matter what, including snow banks or icy roads.
