$10,000 Golden Apple Scholarship Awarded to Three Education Students
Presented by Roberts Wesleyan University, News 8 (WROC-TV) and Advantage Federal Credit Union
Roberts Wesleyan University, News 8 (WROC-TV), and Advantage Federal Credit Union partnered to offer future teachers three $10,000 Golden Apple scholarships. The $10,000 scholarships were awarded to one undergraduate, one adult degree completion, and one graduate student enrolling in the Roberts Wesleyan University education programs this fall.
"This is a great way to bring teachers to areas of need locally and nationally," said Dean of Education and Social Work Adam Huck. "The scholarship program is a great way to reduce some barriers and make college more affordable."

This year's Golden Apple Scholarship recipients are:
Dustin Ayers in the Pathway to Teaching (Adult Degree Completion) category
Mackenzie King in the Master's of Education (Initial Certification Category)
Macy Sweet in the Traditional Undergraduate Student category. Sweet graduated from Broadalbin-Perth High School in Fulton County, N.Y. "I hope to become a teacher who inspires students to celebrate their differences and to help create a space for them where they can step into the person God made them to be," said Sweet.

The annual Golden Apple End of Year Scholarship winners were announced and celebrated on June 5, with the university, WROC-TV, participants, supporters, families and sponsors at WROC's Golden Apple End of Year Celebration.
