Roberts Wesleyan University Welcomes Dr. Ian Slater as Associate Vice President of Student Experience and Title IX Coordinator

Roberts Wesleyan University is pleased to announce Dr. Ian Slater as Associate Vice President for Student Experience and Title IX Coordinator, effective August 5. Slater’s new role encompasses residential living, student wellness, Title IX, spiritual life, student leadership, career and calling and international engagement. This role will work closely with the Senior Advisor to the President for University Culture to promote a culture of care and practices that prioritize the physical, mental and emotional health of everyone within our community. 

Dr. Slater brings vast experience in student life, having served the industry for over 12 years. Most recently, he held the role of Associate Vice President for Student Life at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts. He also served at Indiana Wesleyan University and Geneva College in residence life, student success and engagement, and enrollment management.

He brings energetic leadership, a deep love of students, and an enthusiasm for the Roberts community.”

Ian Slater earned his doctorate of philosophy from Azusa Pacific University, a master’s in higher education from Geneva College and a B.A. in Intercultural Communications from Asbury University. 

Slater and his wife, Rachel, and their four children will move from Massachusetts to the Greater Rochester area for this new opportunity.
