GET TO KNOW B.T. ROBERTS PART 1
Ever wonder who B.T. Roberts (1823-1893) was and why our university carries his name? Can you imagine what it was like in 1866? The first classrooms were in this farmhouse.
Over the next two Fridays, let’s dive into his life and see what made him the leader we admire today.
Benjamin Titus (B.T.) Roberts was born south of Buffalo, New York, in 1823.
He was first trained as an attorney, then entered the ministry of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
He excelled at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. While there, he met Daniel Steele, who would later become president of Syracuse University.
