Music runs in the family for the Shewans. Stephen Shewan '83 (Music Education) is an accomplished composer, arranger, and accompanist. His work, "Evening Lights," will be performed on Nov. 6 at SUNY Fredonia.

The free public concert will celebrate Fredonia's 1825 illumination of gas street lights. The program will also feature music from Broadway's "Les Misérables" to video game culture's "Baba Yetu."

Stephen's brother, Dr. Paul Shewan '82, serves as Interim Chair and Professor of Instrumental Studies. He teaches conducting and trumpet while directing the wind, orchestra, and brass ensembles.
