P. Douglas Page ’75, 65, passed into the presence of the Lord on October 18, 2017 after a 15-week battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gay, daughter Meredith Perna of Prince Frederick, MD, stepson Jason Harper (Lindsey) of Sarasota, FL, father Paul Page, brother Greg Page (Colleen), 3 grandsons and one granddaughter and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother Rayma C. Page. Doug was a 1970 graduate of Cypress Lake High School and received his BA from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY. He returned to Fort Myers to join his father in their family business where he advanced to President of Page Supply. Doug was active in several organizations. He was a lifelong member of Christ Community Church where he served on both the Elder and Administrative Boards, sang in the choir and worship team, taught Sunday School, youth group leader and was active in his Small Group. Doug joined Rotary on March 1, 1984. He served as President in 1989-90, was selected Rotarian of the year in 1998, was a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, and a Board Member for over 20 years. Doug served on many committees, projects, and fund raisers. Doug truly lived Rotary’s Motto: “Service Above Self”. He was a member and past president of the Board of Directors of the Calusa Nature Center for many years.
