Susan Smith Muro ’79 (Fine Arts-Art), Scranton, died Monday morning at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. She was the widow of Ronald G. Muro.
Born in Peckville in 1957, daughter of the late Marshall H. and Dolores Tripp Smith, she was a 1975 graduate of Abington Heights High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Roberts Wesleyan College. She was a devoted member of the Elm Park United Methodist Church and also participated in the Bible study group. Before her illness, she had been employed by St. Joseph’s Center at Walsh Manor. Susan was also a member of the Red Hat Society and bowled in the bowling league at South Side Lanes.
Susan loved to travel and spend time with her family. She always found the joy in life and will be missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Michelle Georgetti and her husband, Matthew, Fell Twp.; a son, Matthew Muro, Allentown; sisters, Carol Geng and her husband, Dan, Shohola; and Corinne Inman and husband, John, Endicott, N.Y.; mother-in-law, Stella Muro; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Muro.
