My aim in getting an English degree is to learn everything I can about what makes a good story. That includes studying the best writers of the past. I have the opportunity to endlessly analyze literature, an experience that is rewarding in more ways than one.

An English degree involves studying some of the most famous authors of all time. It allows you to craft your own views of the world, as you draw inspiration from literature.
As an English major, you will dabble in topics like American literature, world literature, the novel, children’s and adolescent literature, major authors, and more.
English majors read broadly and learn to write pointedly and passionately. They learn to ask what the most incisive and creative minds have asked and to discern—amidst a Christian community—how to stay true to God and themselves in a confusing world. And of course they write. English majors become skilled at organizing heaps of information; they learn how to change people’s minds.
