French

The French minor requires 18 semester hours of French above the FRN 102 level, with at least 9 hours above this level taken at RWC.  Additional hours, to be determined in consultation with RWC faculty, can be secured through pre-approved study abroad programs, intensive summer programs at other colleges, or through cross registration at Rochester area colleges.  Students will be advised to take courses that expose them to both the French language and culture.  It is also recommended that students take CMC 301 (Language, Linguistics, and Human Identity), although this course cannot be counted toward the minor.
