Pre-Pharmacy
Preparation for a career in pharmacy usually involves a six-seven year program: two-three years of pre-pharmacy courses plus four years in a pharmacy school (see B.S. Chemistry-PharmD agreement with the University of Buffalo). However, some pharmacy schools are now preferring that students entering their program have at least three years of college coursework (or a four year undergraduate degree), which would mean a seven to eight year program (three-four year undergraduate, plus four years in a pharmacy program) for the student. The Roberts Wesleyan College Pre-Pharmacy Program is designed to provide the student with the solid foundation of natural science and mathematics that is essential to the understanding of pharmacology as well as the distribution of social science and humanities courses required by most pharmacy schools. While the requirements of most pharmacy schools are similar in many respects, the student may tailor his/her program to satisfy the demands of the particular school of choice.
