Financial Aid
General Qualifications
Roberts Wesleyan College gives financial encouragement to promising and eligible students insofar as its scholarship and other student aid funds permit.
Validated financial need is considered, as well as scholarship, service, leadership, and personal interests and abilities. Each family should expect to make every reasonable financial adjustment to provide as much support toward college expenses as possible.
In general, students must be matriculated full time (12 semester hours per semester) for the fall and/or spring semester in our traditional college program to receive financial aid. State and federal grants as well as student loans may be available for less than full-time enrollment and for summer semesters. Students must meet the eligibility requirements of the specific programs from which they receive assistance. Such requirements include maintaining satisfactory academic progress and program pursuit toward a degree, maintaining a minimum grade point average, having financial need, and other specific conditions of federal, state, or College regulations. Students with disabilities should contact the Office of Financial Aid for special consideration.
Application Procedure
Students seeking assistance through federal student loans, grants, and college work study eligibility must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This may be done on line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. To ensure that financial information is received properly, students should list the College code (002805) on the FAFSA.
Once the processing of the FAFSA is complete, the Office of Financial Aid will prepare an official financial aid package for students accepted to Roberts Wesleyan College. Students should acknowledge acceptance of the Financial Aid Award Notice to the Office of Financial Aid. Questions regarding the financial aid application process or the assistance awarded may be directed to the Office of Financial Aid.
New York State (NYS) students seeking aid through NYS Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) will need to complete the FAFSA and the NYS TAP application. TAP information and applications can be found at www.hesc.com.
Non-New York State students should check with their state regarding financial aid available to students studying in New York State.
College Funded Aid
Eligibility requirements for Roberts Wesleyan College grants include acceptable academic standing, satisfactory academic progress, and favorable record of campus citizenship and activity. Recipient must be a full-time student (12 semester hours or more) at Roberts Wesleyan College. Roberts Wesleyan College reserves the right to reduce a student's Roberts funded financial aid (including merrit aid) if the total of the student's grants and scholarship from all sources meets or exceeds the cost of tuition.
