Academic Scholarships

These scholarships are effective for students who entered for the 2016-2017 academic year or after. Other students please refer to the 2015-2016 catalog for Academic Scholarships.

Roberts Merit Scholarships

The Roberts Merit Scholarship awards full-tuition scholarships (minus other RWC, federal, and state grants and scholarships) to National Merit Scholarship finalists who demonstrate character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College. The award is renewed annually, provided the student maintains a 3.40 cumulative grade point average.  These scholarships are only for students who are first-time, full-time freshman at RWC.

 B. T. Roberts Scholarship

The B. T. Roberts Scholarship awards full-tuition scholarships (minus other RWC, federal, and state grants and scholarships) to the students selected as recipients.  The award will be determined based on an interview during the Academic Scholarship Weekend, essay, SAT/ACT scores and high school academic performance.  The award is renewed annually, provided the student maintains a 3.40 cumulative grade point average.

 

Trustee Scholarship - $14,000/year

The Trustee Scholarship awards $14,000 per year to recipients. The scholarship is renewed annually, provided the student maintains at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average. Returning students may not earn their way into this scholarship. The following criteria apply to first-time applicants:

Freshmen:

  • Minimum SAT 1300 (math and verbal combined) or 29 ACT
  • Minimum High School grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
  • Character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College

New Canadian Students:

  • 88% average overall
  • Character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College 

Transfer Students:

  • Member of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) - must provide membership certificate to admissions

Presidential Scholarship - $13,000/year  

The Presidential Scholarship awards $13,000 per year to recipients. The scholarship is renewed annually, provided the student maintains at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average. Returning students may not earn their way into this scholarship. The following criteria apply to first-time applicants:

Freshmen:

  • Minimum SAT 1200 (math and verbal combined) or 27 ACT
  • Minimum High School grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
  • Character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College

New Canadian Students:

  • 84% average overall
  • Character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College

Transfer Students:

  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.60-4.00 at most recent college attended full time, at the point your financial aid awards are made
  • Character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College

Dean’s Scholarship - $12,000/year

The Dean’s Scholarship awards $12,000 per year to recipients. The scholarship is renewed annually, provided the student maintains at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average. Returning students may not earn their way into this scholarship. The following criteria apply to first-time applicants: 

Freshmen:

  • Minimum SAT 1100 (math and verbal combined) or 24 ACT
  • Minimum High School grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College

New Canadian Students:

  • 80% average overall
  • Character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College

Transfer Students:

  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.30-3.59 at most recent college attended full time, at the time your financial aid awards are made
  • Character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College

Founder's Scholarship - $11,000/year

The Founder's Scholarship awards $11,000 per year to recipients.  The scholarship is renewed annually, provided the student maintains at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.  The following criteria apply to first-time applicants for fall 2014.

Freshman

  • Minimum 1,000 SAT (critical reading and math combined or 21 ACT
  • High School grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College

New Canadian Students

  • 76% overall average
  • Character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College

Transfer Students

  • Average of 3.0-3.29 at most recent college atteded full-time
  • Character consistent with the goals of Robers Wesleyan College
