Freshman Admission
In assessing a freshman applicant’s suitability for admission, the Office of Admissions expects the following:
- Graduation from an accredited high school along with a minimum of a 2.75 GPA and 940 SAT or 17 ACT.
- A completed online application which includes an essay.
Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission into Roberts Welseyan College.
If it is determined that an incoming student would benefit from academic support and guidance, he or she may be admitted with a provisional status. This would entitle the student to dedicated academic oversight to support their success. In support of the student's academic success, first semester courseload will be limited to a maximum of 14 semester hours (full-time status) and the student will receive direct support from the Learning Center during his or her first semester. At the completion of the first semester, students with provisional status will have their records reviewed to determine if additional academic support would be beneficial for the next semester. This review will be conducted by the Academic Guidance and Support Committee.
An opportunity for additional testing and campus interview may be required prior to an admission decision. Any student who has a criminal record will be asked to provide background on the online application and may be asked to meet with a representative from the Admissions office to discuss the instance further.
Roberts Wesleyan has a rolling admissions policy. Completed applications are reviewed regularly throughout the year. A completed application file must include the following:
- Application for admission
- Offical transcripts of high school and/or college work completed or in progress
- To finalize admission, a final transcript must be submitted upon gradaution. To be considered final, the high school transcript must show grades for each course taken as well as the high school graduation date.
- Official SAT or ACT scroes
All documents submitted as part of the admissions process will become the propoerty of Roberts Wesleyan College and cannot be returned to the student or forwarded to another institution.
