Residence Life

Residence Life Philosophy and Policy

Living in a residence hall on Roberts Wesleyan College’s campus is a unique opportunity for students to build lasting relationships and experience all aspects of campus life. Lifestyle standards are established and supported within the community optimally to maintain and promote student learning and development both inside and outside the classroom. Resident students have the opportunity to participate in spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and social experiences that will last a lifetime. On-campus residency requirements are an important part of the educational philosophy of Roberts Wesleyan College for all traditional-age undergraduate students.

Off-Campus Application Process

Certain students may live off campus, subject to the approval of the Office of Student Life. In granting this privilege, consideration will be given to students who are in good academic standing, in compliance with the College’s Community Lifestyle Standards, and one of the following factors:

a) resides with immediate family members;
b) resides with approved faculty or staff members;
c) attends RWC part time (fewer than 12 semester hours);
d) unique service opportunities in exchange for housing.

Single Occupancy Rooms

Single occupancy rooms are generally not provided. If a student is in a room as a single occupant, the College reserves the right to assign a roommate if and when the need arises. In rare instances, students can purchase the temporary use of the other half of a room if the space is not needed. Exceptions to the above policy must be approved by the Office of Student Life in advance.
