Alumni Scholarship
Students who have at least one parent who is an alumni of Roberts Wesleyan University will receive a $1,000 annual scholarship. Eligibility should be identified in the application process.
Art and Music Scholarships
Awards are made each year to talented students who show promise in art and/or music. To be eligible, students must have satisfactory academic records and unusual proficiency in one or more of the above fields. Auditions, portfolio reviews, personal interviews, and recommendations of program coordinators are required of the applicants. Additionally, there are two-full tuition scholarships awarded each year to the most skilled musicians who audition. These awards are renewable based on satisfactory achievement and good standing within the university. Recipients of these scholarships are responsible for participation in their area of interest as determined by the respective departments.
Athletic Scholarships
As an NCAA Division II member, we offer scholarships to talented student-athletes. Coaches decide who receives a scholarship and what it will cover. All incoming athletes must be registered with the NCAA eligibility center.
Black Scholars Scholarship
Incoming freshmen who are Black Scholar graduates* will be awarded an additional $1,000 each year.
*The Black Scholars program is offered through the Urban League of Rochester. The program identifies Black Scholars from school districts in Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, and Wayne Counties.
Christian Ministries Dependent Grant
A grant of $1,000 annually is available upon application to students with financial need who are legally dependent children of parents employed in full-time Christian service.
Church Partnership Scholarship
Roberts Wesleyan University will match 50% to 100% of scholarship assistance provided by an enrolling student’s home church, up to a level of $1000 per year. The level of match will be determined by the Director of Student Financial Services upon review of documented financial need and other resources awarded. The church’s contribution is applied to the fall semester and the school's partnership match is applied to the spring semester. Students who leave school after the fall semester will not receive the university's matching award. An application for this scholarship is required and may be obtained from the Office of Student Financial Services.
Dollars for Scholars
Roberts Wesleyan University is proud to be a part of this Collegiate Partners program. The university matches Dollars for Scholars chapter awards, raised by community volunteers, up to $750
Free Methodist Scholarship
Students who are active members in a Free Methodist Church are eligible for a $1000 annual scholarship.
Golden Apple Scholarship
Roberts Wesleyan University has joined forces with News 8 and Advantage Federal Credit Union to award a $10,000 Golden Apple Scholarship to one incoming undergraduate teacher education student per academic year. Application and Fact Sheet can be found at roberts.edu/golden-apple-scholarships
Roberts Opportunity Grant
This renewable grant awards $10,000 per year to recipients admitted as first-time full-time freshmen students who did not qualify for any academic scholarships. Students must represent character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan University.
Roberts Fund Grant
This grant is awarded to students who exemplify desired personal attributes and character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan University and/or have exceptional financial need (as outlined by the FAFSA). This award is NOT automatically renewed each year.
Senior Citizens
Senior citizens 60 years of age or older may receive a 25% discount on less than full-time tuition (credit or non-credit courses). They may also audit a traditional undergraduate course for $25. Registration is on a space-available basis. To receive this discount seniors must supply a copy of their registration form to the Office of Student Financial Services, prior to the beginning of the semester.
Young Life Scholarship
Full-time traditional undergraduate students who are active members in Young Life are eligible for a $1,000 scholarship for their first year (transfer students not eligible). Any active member of Young Life who enrolls and completes the Young Life Leadership Training Course (a non-credit class during the fall semester), and after completion of the class, holds a leadership position either through Young Life or on Roberts' campus will receive $1,000 each year after their freshmen year. This can be renewable each year for up to three (3) academic years and can total $4,000 over four years.
The Young Life Leadership Training Course is open to both active members in Young Life and anyone else interested in the training course. Students must take the class during their first year freshman or during a transfer student's first fall semester at Roberts.
