Students majoring in mathematics at Roberts Wesleyan University can earn a:
- Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics
- Bachelor of Science in Mathematics
- Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an Applied Mathematics Concentration
- Bachelor of Science in Adolescence and Middle Childhood Teacher Education in Mathematics.
Students have ample freedom within each degree program to study mathematical topics that meet the requirements of the major and their specific interests and career goals. The mathematics programs at Roberts Wesleyan University prepare students for teaching and for mathematics-related careers or graduate studies in areas such as pure or applied mathematics, statistics, business, and computer or actuarial sciences.
SPECIFICS OF THE MATHEMATICS B.A. DEGREE
Minimum Total Hours: 120
Total Liberal Arts Hours Required: 90
General Education Requirements: Per Core Curriculum Requirements list (see General Education Council). Exceptions: the lab science and mathematics proficiency requirements are met through the major.
Minimum Requirements: Overall and major GPA of 2.0; no grade less than C- in the major.

Application to the Major: Standard institutional major application should be submitted at the end of the sophomore year. A minimum overall GPA of 2.0 is required for acceptance to the major.
Major Requirements: 43 hours with a minimum of 31 hours in mathematics as follows:
- 19 hours of required mathematics courses: MATH 2070, 2281, 2282, 2283, 3110, 4990;
- 12 hours of mathematics electives 2000-level or above, excluding MATH 2611 & 2612 and MATH 2631;
- 4 hours of computer programming: CSCI 2010;
- 8 hours of science courses in one discipline: BIOL 1110 & 1120 with labs; CHM 1110 & 1120 with labs; PHYS 1001 & 1002 or 2001 and 2002.
