Nurses have a critical role in the interprofessional healthcare team. The goal of nursing is to promote safe, quality health outcomes for all individuals in our care. Nurses promote health through skills in assessment, provision of care, education, and advocacy for the individuals they serve. At Roberts Wesleyan University, students are equipped with knowledge and skills to serve with excellence in a variety of healthcare settings.

We believe that nurses view clients as unique spiritual beings and see professional nurses as leaders within the health care system promoting wholeness of individuals, families, groups, and communities. Caring and the relationship formed between the nurse and client are central to nursing, for they create an environment that enables clients to progress toward health and wholeness.

Nursing majors registered for clinical courses are responsible for showing evidence that they have had rubella or its vaccination, required immunizations, an annual physical, and required tuberculin testing. CPR and First Aid certification must be maintained while in the clinical courses.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and master's degree programs in nursing at Roberts Wesleyan University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).
