2010-2011 Catalog | Educational Programs

Physical Education

Two semester hours of physical education courses at the 100-level are required for all students.  The physical education requirements are designed to improve the individual's concept of the relationship of physical fitness and activity to good physical and mental health.  Fitness for Life (PED 100, 1 semester hour), is required of all students and should be taken during the first year at Roberts Wesleyan College.  The additional semester hour is fulfilled on an elective basis from among the many physical education skill courses offered and also should be taken early in the student's program.  A maximum of 2 semester hours of skill courses may apply toward a degree but must be earned in different activities. (Note: The 1-semester hour skills requirement may be met through two seasons of participation on a Roberts Wesleyan College varsity team.  In-season registration is required, and the student must register during the second season of participation.)
