Adolescence Education-Spanish, B.S.

[Adolescence Education-Spanish—1105.01]

Students completing the Adolescence Education Spanish program are prepared to apply for New York State teaching certification in Spanish for grades 7-12 (with an extension in Spanish for grades 5-6) and to pursue graduate study in education, Spanish, or related disciplines.  Students pursuing a major in Adolescence Education Spanish are strongly encouraged to study Spanish abroad one semester.  If not selecting the Roberts Wesleyan College-sponsored program with the University of Murcia (Spain), students must consult with the Spanish Department to secure approval of the study-abroad program desired. All Adolescence Education Spanish students are assigned an advisor in the Division of Religion & Humanities as well as an advocate in the Teacher Education Division. Consultation with both advisor and advocate is essential to ensure program requirements and application deadlines for both divisions are met.
