Health Center

Health Center

The Health Center provides comprehensive medical care for illnesses and injuries, as well as wellness promotion designed to support full-time traditional undergraduate students to maintain optimal health needed for academic and personal success.

The Health Center, located on the second floor in the Voller Athletic Center, is open Monday through Friday between 8 am-5 pm. To schedule an appointment, contact the Health Center at 585-594-6360 or email at healthcenter@roberts.edu.  Same-day visit and walk-ins are welcome if schedule permits.

In case the Health Center is closed, contact Campus Security at 585-594-7777 for non-urgent medical assistance. In the instance of a life-threatening situation, call 911 and notify Campus Security.

General Precautions

The College reserves the right to take appropriate action consistent with school policy regarding particular health or threatening mental situations. In the interest of the college community's safety and well-being, students may be required to depart to their homes, hotel, or local hospital.

Medical Insurance

It is highly recommended that all students maintain medical insurance coverage. Many clinical and internship sites require coverage for students' participation. International students and student-athletes, as well as students participating in college-sponsored overnight or missions trips, are mandated to have insurance coverage.

Medical Insurance - International Students

All international students are required to secure medical insurance coverage before arrival to attend college and reside on campus. Proof of coverage can be the student's insurance ID card or a letter of credible coverage with start and expiration date of coverage. We ask for international students to verify the medical insurance policy will be applicable during their stay in the United States.

Medical Insurance - Athletes

New and returning student-athletes are required to secure medical insurance coverage before arrival on campus for intercollegiate sports. Proof of medical insurance coverage can be the student's insurance ID card or a letter of credible coverage. The student-athlete's medical insurance policy must cover sports injuries for the student to be a sports participant.

Immunization/Health Records for Attendance

New York State Public Health Laws 2164 and 2167 mandate all newly admitted and readmitted undergraduate students attending New York State educational institutions taking six credit hours or more to provide evidence of protection against specific diseases.

The Health Center Health History Immunization form and documents must be submitted to the Health Center before the student's arrival on campus.

New York State educational institutions are required to exclude non-compliant students from the premises. Violations of NYS PHL 2165 and 2167 may result in the imposition of a penalty of up to $2,000 per student.

Infectious Disease

In the case of an infectious outbreak, the Health Center will act per the local health department's guidance to manage and accommodate the campus community in preventing further exposure and transmission, with a focus on safeguarding the well-being of students, faculty, and staff.

Website

The Health Center website presents the medical services offered, features outside medical resources of the surrounding area, and a Q&A section. It also supplies information to assist the student in completing the New York State college attendance requirements, and furnishes the Health History Immunization forms for new and returning students, international students, student-athletes, and specific programs like nursing.
