Campus Safety
The University provides Licensed Security Officers 24 hours per day. These officers provide a wide array of services for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors. These services include but are NOT limited to:
- Responding to emergency calls
- Responding to non-emergency assistance calls
- Patroling walks, roads, and lots on campus
- Checking and securing campus buildings and facilities
- Enforcing traffic and parking regulations
- Enforcing all administrative policies, especially: Title IX & Sexual Assault, Non-Discrimination & Non-Harassment policies
- Performing fire safety inspections
- Planning and implementing emergency drills
- Maintaining incident and crime reports, such as the annual Clery Report
- Working with Student Development personnel to create an excellent student life experience
- Assisting local law enforcement with criminal investigations
- Campus Safety will provide, upon request, all campus crime statistics as reported to the United States Department of Education. These statistics can be viewed at the Department of Education’s website (http://ope.ed.gov/security/) or by contacting Campus Safety at 585-594-7777.
Parking Permits
Parking permits are required for all vehicles using the campus lots. Students secure permits annually online at https://www.roberts.edu/student-experience/campus-safety/vehicle-parking-permits/
ID Cards
A student id card is the student's passage to many services at Roberts Wesleyan College. The student fee covers the cost of this card. Lost or misplaced cards can be replaced at the Campus Safety Office (Voller Athletic Center, room 270). The cost of a replacement card is $5.00. Student Id cards may be obtained at the Campus Safety Office Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., or by special appointment (585-594-7777).
Lost and Found
The Campus Safety Office maintains a lost and found area. Students may check in this office for lost items. Additionally, students may check with the division office of the building in which they may have lost the item.
Clery Report
The Roberts Wesleyan College annual security and fire safety report, also known as the Clery Report is available for review. This report is required by federal law and contains safety and security policy statements and crime statistics for the school. This report is filed annually with the U.S. Department of Education and contains three years worth of statistics for certain types of crimes that were reported to have occurred on campus, in or on off-campus buildings, or property owned or controlled by the school and on public property within or immediately adjacent to the campus.
The Campus Safety and Security Department will provide upon request, all campus crime statistics as reported to the United States Department of Education. Crime statistics may be obtained at the Campus Safety Office located at the Voller Athletic Center, Room 270, by sending a written request to Roberts Wesleyan College Campus Safety Department, 2301 Westside Drive, Rochester, NY 14624, or by calling the Campus Safety Office at 585-594-7777. Crime statistics are also located on the Roberts Campus Safety website https://www.roberts.edu/student-experience/campus-safety/ under Clery Report and are available through the United States Department of Education http://ope.ed.gov/Security/
