Special Program in Coaching Licensure

When all courses (12 hours minimum) are successfully completed, the student will apply directly to the State Education Department for licensure.

NOTE:  These classes are also part of a Coaching Minor.

For those individuals who are not certified as a Physical Education teacher and wish to coach in the State of New York, Roberts Wesleyan University offers a series of courses designed to meet the guidelines for the coaching requirement established by the Commissioner of Education at the State Education Department.

The courses are as follows:

PEDU 2250 Administration of Interscholastic Athletics
PEDU 2350 Coaching Techniques and Practices
PEDU 2500 Scientific Bases of Exercise
PEDU 4500 Coaching Practicum
PHST 2010 First Aid/CPR
